Speed, Agility, and Quickness (SAQ) Programs

Pursuit offers 6-8 week speed, agility, and quickness (SAQ) programs several times during the year. The Pursuit programs have been developed over the last five years to be the arguably the best soccer-specific SAQ programs in British Columbia. Craig Dalrymple, Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and North American ‘A’ License Soccer Coach, is the principal designer of the programs.

The speed training programs specifically target foot-speed and whole body co-ordination. Running form, agility (changing direction under control) and acceleration are also incorporated into the training. The one hour sessions dedicate time to dynamic stretching warm-ups and static stretching cool-downs. The programs are an excellent tool for athletes returning from injury, preparing for tournaments, provincial, and national championships, or to gain an advantage over their peers.

The SAQ programs are offered four times per year in the fall (Sept, Oct, Nov), winter (Jan, Feb, Mar), spring (May & June), and the summer (July & Aug). Many athletes have benefited from Pursuit’s SAQ program’s including recreational (youth & adult), and select, provincial, and national level athletes.

Private (1 on 1), semi private (1 on 4) and team training are also available.  ^top

Soccer Fitness

Craig Dalrymple is the designer & instructor of Soccer Fitness. The program uses creative activities that incorporate the soccer ball to develop overall soccer fitness. The non-stop 40 to 60 minute weekly workout places players through a series of fun but challenging exercises that develop flexibility, strength, power, quickness, speed-endurance and balance/coordination. Soccer Fitness is an excellent tool for athletes returning from injury, preparing for tournaments, provincial, and national championships, to improve overall fitness levels, or to gain an advantage over their peers.  ^top
